“One just has to look at an elephant group to understand the importance of family” (Blewett  47). Over the past few decades elephants have become closer to reaching extinction. Elephants are hunted for their tusks on a daily basis. What once was a species of millions across Africa has plummeted to a mere thousand. Tusks are in high demand for various religious, cultural,  economic, and/or materialistic purposes.
